“Jurassic World Rebirth” roared at the China box office this week, raking in a staggering $2.7 million on its first Tuesday—outpacing Mission: Impossible 8’s $2.1 million—and surfacing as the highest-grossing Tuesday for any Hollywood release in China in 2025.

After its big debut on July 2, the film surged toward the $50 million mark in its first six days in mainland China, fueled by strong walk-in traffic, which made up 90 % of ticket sales compared to a 10 % pre-sale ratio. Through Tuesday, it had amassed nearly $47.2 million, with $41.5 million coming from the opening five days.

Globally, Jurassic World Rebirth has smashed expectations, pulling in $318.3 million worldwide in its first five days—$147.3 million domestically and $171 million internationally—making it the top global film over the Fourth of July weekend. This blockbuster debut has propelled Scarlett Johansson to become the highest-grossing actor of all time, surpassing previous records held by Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Downey Jr.

Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey, the film follows a high-stakes mission to recover dinosaur DNA in hopes of curing heart disease. Produced on a $180 million budget, it has already recouped its costs and stands poised to cross the $400 million global milestone.
